Acrylic and mixed media on deep edge canvas. 16 x 16 inches. This painting was made using items found around Brooklyn, NYC. So there's more browns and earthy colours than other NY ones that are more about Times Sqaure and Manhattan generally.
I went there when another painting was in a group exhibiton. I found a good few things on the streets, exciting different energy. I like to include the American Spirit cigarette packets as a reminder of the origins of the States (I think they're taboo now - those packets!). Squashed metal can is wired on for safety - as always care is taken with heavier items. There is another wire that is meant to be sticking out. I noticed that the city was in a constant state of construction and renovation, always becoming. If you look carefully you will find the title in the piece.
