Dublinski. Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. Full size 39 x 12 inches. 2007.
Hello and Welcome!
My mixed media painting style began around the time I witnessed the metamorphosis of Dublin, from a self conscious place to one that is now richer for her diversity.
This is reflected in Dublinski, where each intricate component is a vital part to the smooth running of the entire organism. Dublinski is a nickname that some Russian friends gave to the city, presenting her in a fresh light. Made in 2007 during Ireland’s economic boom. Cranes dominated the skyline as shiny new glass and mirrored structures mushroomed up alongside grand old Georgian gems of buildings. This period in Irish history is bookended with Eye of the Tiger (under Highlights), when the economy tanked. Although my work is fun and colourful I also tackle serious issues head on... sometimes ;)
This website is organised into themed Cityscapes and beach themed works called Driftwood Beasties, which has its own separate shop. There is a shop/pricelist on the last page for all paintings featured on this site.
