Here you will find a chronological journey of my artistic activities, especially for those not on social media. And for a slower pace...
Open Night July 10th running until October 2024 - DUENDE, Artnet DLR Members' Exhibition, Walter's Bar & Café, Dun Laoire, Co. Dublin
My piece Cherry Blossom Flotsam features in this group exhibition selected by artist Sean Molloy and curated by artist Louise Neiland.
Wednesday 10 July 2024, 6.30 - 9pm Walters Bar, Dún Laoghaire. Also ONLINE at: artnetdlr.ie/artnetdlr-group-exhibition-duende/
Join us for a special opening of our major group exhibition DUENDE at Walters, featuring over 90 artworks by dlr artists, ArtNetdlr members.
Artist Sean Molloy will open the show.
It’s a unique opportunity to see eclectic mix of art by local established artists alongside emerging talent, responding to the theme of Duende.
‘Duende’ explores the idea of soul and the awareness of death, in art and life, both sharing the sense of tragedy or pain moving the creative energies, and having more fire and drama in it. ‘Duende’ has been defined as the spirit of evocation, “a state of tragedy-inspired ecstasy.”
All exhibition artworks available to preview and purchase on ArtNetdlr.ie now.

January 2024 - personal project, Mask collaboration with Japanese artist Kill Machine Kana Hawa. Instigated by me via Instagram DMs.
I reached out to the artist kana_hawa_neo, we both seemed a bit bored, I suggested we collaborate, he was up for it. I need to take a break from intricate painting every so often. Decorated my half of a paper mask, made sure to include an Irish proverb for a bit of cultural exchange. It took WEEKS to arrive to Japan but he's working on his half now. Looking forward to seeing the results and no I absolutely don't expect it to be posted back, will be happy with some photos and / or a video of the completed mask.

August 24th - 27th 2023, New Earth Festival, secret location in county Sligo.
Once again my lovely artist friend Julita Jaroszuk asked me to be involved in something groovy. New Earth Festival, taking place in Sligo. The theme of the festival is Freedom and Sovereignty. Very apt that the big butterfly I'm making is made from lots of pieces of driftwood I collected on beachcombing walks during the endless lockdowns of the pandemic in Ireland a few short years ago. The butterfly will be painted in yellow, red and green as per colour scheme of the festival.
Buy your ticket here if you can: newearth.ie/book-online/
June 16th - 18th 2023, The People's Art, Stephent's Green outdoor art exhibition, Dublin 2.
Warm and drizzly weather for the People's Art this weekend! I brought the plastic sheeting for day two, the Saturday. I also subconsciously dressed like Poolbeg Sisters painting with my stripey top! 2 fridge magnets sold, and a small painting Nsert This Way. Thank you to the Americans who always immediately "get" my work! I'm taking the Sunday off as a day of rest...

I love to participate in Walk Bye events! Images are printed on vinyl banners and hung outdoors, for example outside the public library in Jersey City. This event's theme is GRATITUDE, and my piece Times Square Supastar was selected. The piece is about the gratitude I felt when I visited the famous New York location, for realz. Here are the details if you live nearby;
Walk Bye Art Opening & Wildlife Feast

August 20, 21. The People's Art outdoor exhibition at Stephen's Green Park, Dublin 2.
I'll be on the East side of Stephen's Green Park again! That's just around the corner from the Shelbourne Hotel, or the side parallel to the Green Luas stop. Edit = great last outdoor exhibition of the summer. More chats and sharing of information. A fridge magnet sold and my favourite NYC painting, In the (K)now, to two separate and very appreciative buyers, which is the main thing. Yay!

July 22 - 24. The People's Art, Stephen's Green Park.
Another great outdoor art event in Dublin city. Lovely neighbours again and the green painting God's Help found its forever home in Napa, California, USA. I had so many great conversations with Americans, French people and locals alike. This is only on a handful of times a year but it's so worth it!

FROM Outsider Magazine Issue 8. January 12, 2022.
I found out that I was included in this magazine several months later, yay! Two of my pieces Blue City (It's OK Baby) and How 2BA NY 4 Way feature. As well as many interesting artists from all over the globe. In their own words, the magazine is "dedicated to outsider artists. We use the term "outsider" loosely, to cover various other art forms." Their non conclusive list includes = Outsider Art, Art Brut, Self-Taught Artists, FOLK ART, Underground Arts, Lowbrow Art, Dark Art, Naive Art, Intuitive Art....
Guess I can legitimately call myself an Urban Folk Artist now!

I am participating in Art for ARC Cancer Support auction once again this year. Donated painting is I Get So Emotional Baby. This was made in respone to the societal preesure I felt to reproduce - as a woman. 24 x 24 inches. Includes an Irish proverb on a matchbox cover "Faint Heart Never Won Fair Lady" and small pieces of mirror to reflect light and to include the viewer in the piece. Glad that it SOLD with all proceeds going to ARC.

Edit: City By Night is now framed and living happily everafter with the wonderful buyer. Thank you!
I was pleased to be asked by the charity First Light to contribute to the Lord Mayor of Dublin's Charity Ball, a fundraising event for 3 different charities, the other 2 being Ruhama and Aoibhneas. This is a black tie event in the beautiful Round Room in the Mansion House on Dawson Street, Dublin 2. The painting City By Night will be up for auction on the night. Exciting! Sometimes it takes years for the right event / buyer / opportunity to present itself. I like that the Ball takes place at night, in Dublin, which is the theme of the painting. The squashed radio aerial = yes that is my interpretation of the Spire sculpture on O'Connell Street! :D

I am finally participating in this year's Incognito exhibition! A fundraising initiative by children's charity the Jack and Jill Foundation. Over 3000 postcard-sized artworks will be up for auction on the 21st April, priced at 65 euro each. ALL funds going to the work of the organisation. The difference with this exhibition is that the identity of the artist is only revealed to the buyer afterwards. I cast my eye over some pages already and there really is something for all tastes. Check it out! You must register first to bid and you can save your favourites. Happy looking and bidding! I've shared 9 of my own personal favourites.
Edit: Now that the auction is over I've added my 3 = Happy Cloud, Rainbow and Heartface.

I like to do different things, artistically. Here is a rosette I made from bits of ribbons and material scraps, for St Patrick's Day.

I painted the windows of the Morgan Hotel in Temple Bar, Dublin city centre for St. Patrick's Day. This was the first proper celebration of Ireland's national holiday since before the pandemic 3 years ago! I set a deadline for myself and learned a few things... not bad for my first post covid gig though!

I am delighted to be an invited artist to a feminist themed exhibition launching on St Brigid's Day or Imbolc, one of the quarter days in the traditional Irish calendar. Online, Carrickahowley Gallery, part of the Maine Irish Heritage Centre, Portland, ME, USA. Curated by Rhode Island School of Design lecturer, curator, cultural critic and painter Robin Savage. Includes an accompanying curatorial text, see slideshow below. Plus the most scathing artist's statement I've ever written, but hey it's true!

Always delighted to participate in Walk Bye events. On Saturday December 11th, art and community event in Jersey City Library. My artwork No. 7 XL is one of many whose image is printed and placed on the outside windows for all to enjoy. Thanks to the founder of Walk By Catalina Aranguren, this organisation is a fantastic way for people to enjoy art outdoors during this godforsaken pandemic.
Also - as this piece was inspired by and its materials were collected Stateside, it's nice that it got an airing in the place where it originated.

City of Dreams went under the hammer at the Art Auction by Inside Out Home Show. All proceeds in aid of Friends of the Coombe Hospital in Dublin. If it wasn't for Instagram I'd never find out about opportunities like this. So I guess will keep plugged in! SOLD.
A little bit about this painting - it's a happy city painting with a big little girl about to explore it. Includes pieces of mirror, holographic and even glow in the dark elements (the clouds). There are lumpy bits in the sky because there's actually a hidden painting underneath it (by me) of the sacred heart of Jesus! I was obsessed with kitsch Catholic iconography at the time. So the sky ended up gold. Delighted to set it free to its new home! Made in 2012 and only previously shown at the People's Art Stephen's Green.
October 2021
I took the show on the road for K-FEST arts festival in Killorglin, County Kerry. Friday to Monday, 22-25th. A multidisciplinary arts festival where the art is displayed in alternative spaces and places around the town. I was in Gallery 2, the Old Woolshed on Langford Street. What an amazing experience, where I finally got to meet many artists in person whose work I admire.

The National Comfort Blanket is exhibited in the Cowshed, Farmleigh, Phoenix Park in Dublin. This is the culmination of the Pluid Project 2021, when a national call out for miniature works of art (6 x 6 inches) was made, along the theme of what gave people comfort during the long lockdowns. I made the Lilest Driftwood Beastie especially for this, a reflection of the comfort of beachcombing and walks along the beach. Most of the 1200 works are being auctioned off in aid of Pieta House, an organisation that deals with the painful issue of suicide, as many people's mental health has been affected by the pandemic.

Walk Bye celebrates its one year anniversary with an online exhibition. I responded to the theme Coming Out of the Pandemic with this piece called Join Life (Like A Leaping Leprachaun).
Founder of Walk Bye, Catalina Araguren says: "I founded Walk Bye as a response to the withdrawal I felt from not being able to go to galleries and museums. This virtual exhibit is an homage to the over 100 artists from all over the world, all sexes, ages, nationalities and backgrounds who made me realise that inspiration can come from anywhere."
